EN. Singer songwriter, producer, Seheno was born in Madagascar, she hails from a family of renowned musicians, founders of the legendary Malagasy pop band “Ny Railovy“.
Her musical upbringing was nurtured by her malagasy roots, a crossover of Africa & Indian Ocean and her attachment for non-conformism and diversity.

Her trips to other cultures and her own tradition inspire her to create a music without borders from her first album KA (2008). She mixes organic and hybrid sound textures with her sensuous voice, revealing exotic dreamlands sung in colorful and groovy Malagasy and English.
As a frequent traveller to Madagascar, Europe and Asia, nature and our mutating world have a strong impact on her songs.

Seheno is a maverick artist, her music with multiple influences ignores labels and invites contemplation and reflection.

Her new EP will be released in fall 2025.

Green Packaging

“Ka” her debut album was an eco-friendly packaged album, unique of its kind, using handmade paper (recycled cotton). This initiative warmly praised by French medias (Bio Consomm’ acteur, Ecolomag, Féminin Bio, Marianne…) was her tribute to the sacred dimension of nature inherited from her culture whereas the unique biodiversity of Madagascar is nowadays at stake.

“Hazo Kely” her second album’s packaging is made of 100% recycled cardboard and the CD is made with certified recycled polycarbonate. The album was entirely recorded at her home with green electricity from Enercoop.

FR. Auteure-compositrice interprète, productrice,  Seheno est née à Madagascar dans une famille de musiciens de la grande île, le légendaire groupe de pop malgache « Ny Railovy ». Nourrie par la sève musicale malgache, elle doit son style unique à son héritage de l’Afrique et de l’Océan Indien et à un parcours musical marqué par le non-conformisme et la diversité.

Ses voyages dans d’autres cultures et sa propre tradition l’inspirent à créer une musique sans frontières dès son premier album KA (2008). Elle mêle les matières sonores organiques et hybrides à la sensualité de sa voix pour dévoiler des paysages exotiques et oniriques chantés dans un malgache ou un anglais rythmé et coloré. La nature et notre monde en mutation ont un fort impact sur ses chansons.

La musique de Seheno aux influences multiples, brouille les pistes, fait fi des étiquettes et nous invite à la contemplation et à la reflexion.

KA est un album éco-conçu, c’est un des premiers boitiers à être fabriqué à partir de coton recyclé, une démarche saluée par la presse spécialisée (Bio Consomm’ acteur, Ecolomag, Féminin Bio, Marianne…). Une manière pour elle de rendre hommage à la sacralité de la nature transmise dans sa culture, à l’heure où la biodiversité de Madagascar, unique au monde, se trouve menacée.
 

Fidèle à ses convictions écologiques, la pochette de son deuxième album Hazo Kely est faite à 100% de papier recyclé et le CD est fabriqué à partir de polycarbonate recyclé. L’album a été enregistré entièrement chez elle avec de l’électricité verte de chez Enercoop.
